5 Types of Websites and Which is Best For Your Business

5 Types of Websites

The world wide web is vast and there are a multitude of various websites. This article will list a few of the most popular types of websites and what they are used for in order for you to make an informed decision as to what kind of website best suits your business needs.

The first website type on this list is a brochure website. This is in essence an online brochure of your company, organization or place of business. Most brochure websites are used for general information and can range between 1 and 5 pages. There is typically a home page, an about page, a services/product page, and a contact page. Brochure websites are great for hair stylists, lawyers, general contractors and smaller businesses. Most websites that Valentine Web Design has designed and developed over the years have been brochure websites. You can view our portfolio to see what we can offer your business.

An e-commerce website is a website where money is exchanged via the web. Either through services like Paypal or Stripe. E-Commerce websites are typically online stores, but some can be subscription/membership-based websites. Having an e-commerce store can really help out when it comes to overhead costs and is great for entrepreneurs that may not want to have a traditional brick and mortar store.

Landing Page

A landing page is a very important part of marketing campaigns. They are typically used to showcase a product or service and will sometimes have it’s own unique look from the rest of a company’s websites. Landing pages are specifically created for one goal at a time. A landing page can be used to sell you a product or service, or it can be used as a lead generation tool that will allow you to market to visitors at a later date.

A blog is an online journal that is regularly updated and can provide a social outlet for people. They are typically informal. One of my favorites is Sally’s Baking Addiction.

A magazine site is a website that features articles, photos, & videos that are news and information based. Magazine sites work very well for news websites.
